Providing emergency relief and resources
to Henderson County residents who are in financial crisis
General Information
Interfaith Assistance Ministry is a volunteer driven organization with almost 300 volunteers who provide approximately 35,000 hours of service each year. (This is equal to almost 17 full time employees). IAM has a small staff of 12; only 4 are full time. IAM volunteers are the reason 78 cents of every dollar donated in 2011 was spent on direct client services.
IAM offers a variety of volunteer opportunities. Volunteers usually work one four-hour shift per week. Shifts are 8:45am to 12:45pm and 12:30pm to 4:30pm Monday through Friday. The Volunteer Managers will arrange for a substitute whenever a volunteer needs time off.
