Crisis Assistance
IAM provides food, clothing, help with utilities, heat, rent,
medications and other necessities on an emergency basis. Food is provided as
a five-day supply of three nutritious meals a day for each family member.
Clothing is supplied as needed, subject to availability. Other assistance is
through vouchers or direct payment to vendors.
Interfaith Assistance Ministry is often the last resort for the
working poor, injured or ill workers, chronically ill individuals, older
folks on fixed incomes, single parents and the unemployed, who find
themselves in a financial crisis. Interfaith offers a "hand up" in
time of need.
Volunteer Intake Workers conduct comprehensive interviews to determine
eligibility and emergency assistance needs. Each client is assisted in formulating
a household budget. Interfaith coordinates services with other local human
service agencies to prevent duplication and to ensure maximum support for the
client. Detailed records are kept of services rendered.
Interfaith Assistance
Ministry is a member of the Henderson County Crisis Services Coalition, whose
goal is to coordinate services and prevent duplication.
